Francesca Berger - Monday, February 27, 2012

In 1576, the famous physician and alchemist Paracelsus wrote the Great Surgery Book. In this book he established that the main role of alchemy (the old name chemistry) was not to turn metals into gold but to develop medicines, in particular extracts from healing plants. He believed that distillation released the most highly desirable part of the plant. Distillation today, is the most common and economical way of extracting pure essential oils for Aromatherapy.
